Today was our long ride over to Playa da Famara, a little sandy town on the northwest coast of Lanzarote. There were a couple of climbs on the way there, and we seemed to be heading into the wind all the way. I comforted myself with the prospect of a tail wind on the way back ! A stop at the triathlon shop in San Bartolome gave an opportunity for window shopping, and, in some cases, actual shopping. Lunch was an excellent fish stew. There had been talk of a swim or a beach run, but I was certainly too full, so it was a quick look at the sea, then back on the bikes. There were some places where we had a tail wind, but the cross winds at other times made the descents interesting. However it was an exhilarating ride, and now I’m enjoying a sit down. I gave stretched though !
